Episode Description

Episode 50. I can't believe we're here. This one's for you. Every mum who's listened at 3am with a baby on your chest. Every mum who's cried in the car and then pressed play. Every mum who sent me a message saying "me too." You changed my life. I started this podcast so you'd feel less alone. Turns out, you made me feel less alone too. This episode is my big, messy, teary thank you. Being a mum is the hardest and best thing I've ever done. And I'm so glad we're doing it together.

Episode Summary

  • Reflecting on recording episode one alone in the kitchen with a cold cup of tea and no idea if anyone would listen
  • The whole reason I started this podcast — I wanted just one mum to listen and feel less alone
  • Talking about the stuff no one says out loud — the 3am feeds, the crying in the bathroom, the days you don't enjoy
  • Being a mum is the best thing I've ever done but also the hardest — and both of those things can be true at the same time
  • This is not a whinging podcast — I love being a mum but I'm not going to pretend it's easy
  • Having a hard day doesn't mean you're a bad mum — struggling doesn't mean you're failing
  • Every stage of motherhood is different — newborn fog, toddler tantrums, and now school mum life which is a whole new world
  • Every kid is different — what worked for Maisie didn't work for Maeve at all
  • This podcast is a no judgement space — I'm not here as an expert, I'm here as a mum right in it with you
  • A huge thank you to every mum who has listened, shared and sent messages — you lot are unreal
  • This podcast helped me feel less alone too and I wasn't expecting that
  • What's coming next — more honest stories, more experts, more mums sharing their experiences, and lots more about school mum life
  • Our best is enough — even on the days it doesn't feel like it
